There is no denying Facebook dominates online advertising media due to global reach.

Many companies have successfully recognised this, and are keen to jump in.

But I want to share with you my honest strategy for Facebook ads.

1. Don’t over invest.

It’s a fact that marketers must advertise online, for the simple aim to be found – it’s about visibility.

If you are not online, you are risking losing customers to competitors.

Social ads are a great element of what should be one part of your overarching marketing mix.

Don’t jeopardise other potential ways to gain reach by restricting only to Facebook ads.

2. Don’t obsess over ROI.

Say you are a Facebook administrator for a page that is running a campaign. You can quantify results immediately.

Don’t get me wrong.

I am always up to try new things that could simplify our lives.

So this Thursday morning (not just morning, more like sparrows fart) I have a presentation with a colleague of mine.

The breakfast seminar is to members of the Australian Marketing Institute on website mobile compatibility, or in a broader context the importance of “device friendly” websites, and what marketers should be thinking about for their strategies.

Without even going through my presentation, I already know it includes the following words:

  • optimised
  • dynamic
  • utilise
  • share of voice
  • impression
  • leveraging

Hello cheese factor.

I will be most impressed if anyone reading this prior can pick any of them out.

To anyone else doing a presentation soon, enjoy this and good luck.

Thanks to Leaders West for this stupidly awesome info-graphic, as well as now sharing some of my articles more regularly.
